The Canon PIXMA HOME MG2960 is reasonably usable for printing documents and texts, but you have to accept limitations: the ink takes some time to dry and the bottom edge is cut off very high, which means you may need more sheets. The paper tray only has space for 60 sheets. A fairly small amount, but with the limited cartridge range and the high cost, printing out entire novels is not recommended anyway. The photo print quality is good, but you can only use the device to print on photo paper up to a format of 10 x 15 cm. Unfortunately, DIN A4 printing on photo paper and borderless printing are not possible. So it can hardly be used as a pure photo printer. The printing and scanning functions offered are okay, but a duplex printing function would definitely have been desirable. Unfortunately, when printing on both sides, you always have to turn the pages over manually. Even when copying, the bottom edge is cut off too high. The quality is okay, although not entirely true to the original colour copies. You also need to have a little patience for scanning and copying with the Pixma. A new set of original cartridges costs almost as much as the printer itself. Accordingly, colour printing is incredibly expensive. As with black/white printing, this is actually only acceptable if you print very rarely. The Canon PIXMA HOME MG2960 can be integrated directly into the home network via WLAN. The support for WLAN direct printing is also practical. In addition, it can be connected to the PC via USB; the only thing missing is a classic cable network connection.

Installation procedure on Windows: The printer requires the Canon PIXMA MG2960 Driver and software files. Download the driver and connect the USB cable from the printer to your computer. Then follow the instructions on how to install the printer driver in the installation window.
Installation procedure on macOS: Download the file and mount the disk image (if “dmg” format). Open the installer file in the mount folder, the installation will start automatically. When you’re done, connect your printer and you’re ready to use your Canon PIXMA MG2960 printer.
